Born and raised in Frankfurt, Germany,
Anja studied at the private design school ‘Frankfurter Akademie für Kommunikation und Design’, graduating as a Graphic Designer in 1997.

Working as a freelancer for local advertising agencies during her studies provided Anja with ample skills and work experience to succeed in her first full time position as a Graphic Designer after university.

She spent three years with ‘Die Werkstatt’,
an in house advertising agency for a big publishing company in Bad Homburg. During this period Anja was responsible for the complete design process of a magazine for one of Germany’s biggest health insurance companies. Designing brochures, flyers, posters and business reports was a daily
part of her role within the agency.

In January 2001 she moved on to her next career step and became art director for ‘die köpfe’, a boutique design agency based in Frankfurt. Accuracy, a keen eye for detail, dealing with multiple jobs at a time, working closely with the creative director and the ability to see a job through from the very first idea up to the print hand over transformed working for ‘die köpfe’ into a challenging, demanding, sometimes tough but always interesting path. Clients ranged from all business sectors – food, pharmaceutical
and manufacturing.

Anja’s six and a half years with ‘die köpfe’ enabled the best preparation for her biggest step yet – emigrating to Australia in July 2007, followed by opening her own business later that year in November.
